Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. v. Fluor Enterprises, Inc.

(Client: Liberty Mutual)

The Firm successfully represented a large property and casualty insurer in an insurance coverage dispute with three other insurance companies concerning liability for nearly $9 million paid to settle underlying lawsuits alleging personal injuries caused by a 2006 FEMA trailer explosion. Following trial in federal court in New Orleans, the Judge entered a decision in favor of the firm’s client, foreclosing the other carrier’s efforts to recover their settlement payments from the firm’s client, and allowing the firm’s client to proceed with its recovery efforts.  H. Minor Pipes III, John W. Joyce, and Catherine Fornias Giarrusso represented the client.
