Barrasso Team Secures a Win for Best Dessert at the NOBA Bar & Grille Competition
On Sunday, April 17, 2016, Barrasso Usdin participated in the 14th annual New Orleans Bar & Grille law firm cooking competition organized by the Young Lawyers Section of the New Orleans Bar Association. The event, held at City Park’s Peristyle, included live entertainment, free drinks, and a sampling of each team’s dishes. Many law firms and local companies participated in the competition with teams of amateur chefs who prepared their own meals, decorated their booths, and competed for the following award categories: Best Local Favorite, Best Dessert, Most Creative, Best Booth Decoration, Crowd Favorite, and Best Overall. All proceeds from the event were donated to Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm that provides legal services to low-income people in civil cases.
The firm’s team, “Barrasso Breeze,” kicked off their third year participating in the competition. Barrasso’s menu consisted of Buffalo Soldier Jambalaya, Jamming Jerk Sliders with Soul Rebel Salsa or Get Up, Stand Up Slaw, and No Woman No Cry for these Blondies. We are very proud of our team members – Madison Sharko, Kelsey Meeks, Chrissy Calogero, Kimberly Silas, Shaun McFall, Bobby Dressel, and Jordan Ollestad – for doing such a fantastic job. Not only was all of their food amazing, but they secured a third place win for their coconut and caramel blondies in the Best Dessert category. Great job team!
