Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver is pleased to announce the promotion of two associates. The firm welcomes Christine M. Calogero and Laurence ("Lon") D. LeSueur, Jr. as partners of the firm.
Christine M. Calogero
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School, Chrissy Calogero returned to her hometown of New Orleans to clerk for the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. Eastern District of Louisiana and the Honorable Stephen A. Higginson of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Chrissy has been with the firm since completing her clerkships, handling a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including insurance coverage and bad faith, securities and financial industry litigation, commercial contract disputes, director and officer liability, and appellate litigation. Chrissy also maintains a robust pro bono practice, arguing a habeas corpus appeal in front of the U.S. Fifth Circuit this past year, and is active in the community, serving, among other roles, on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association, New Orleans Chapter, and of The Pro Bono Project. In recognition of her achievements, Chrissy received the New Orleans Leadership in Law Award in 2020 and is included in the 2021 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Chrissy serves as chair of the firm’s diversity committee and co-chair of recruiting.
Laurence ("Lon") D. LeSueur, Jr.
Lon spent nearly a decade living overseas before returning to his home state of Louisiana for law school at LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. After graduating magna cum laude, Lon clerked for the Honorable Susie Morgan of the U.S. Eastern District of Louisiana before joining the firm. Since then, Lon has handled a wide range of complex commercial disputes, including insurance coverage and bad faith cases, securities matters, class actions, shareholder derivative claims, intellectual property actions and contract disputes, as well as products liability and environmental/toxic tort matters. Lon has litigated in state and federal courts in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas at both the trial and appellate level, and he also serves pro bono clients in immigration and habeas proceedings. Lon now calls New Orleans home, where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons.
