Chloé M. Chetta to Present on Removal and Remand Updates

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Chloé M. Chetta will be presenting for a New Orleans Bar Association CLE hosted by the Complex Litigation and Products Liability Committee.  Chloé, and the other members of the panel, will be presenting on "Removal and Remand Updates."  The discussion will include:

  • Review of the technical bases for removal and remand
  • Review of complex issues related to removals, including:
    • pre-service removals
    • federal question removals
    • federal officer removals
    • CAFA implications
    • joinder issues
    • effects of suing foreign insurers

Chloé M. Chetta

Chloé M. Chetta practices in the areas of complex and commercial litigation, appellate litigation, toxic tort/environmental litigation, and insurance coverage and bad faith.

Before joining the firm, Chloé served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen A. Higginson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and as a law clerk to the Honorable Sarah S. Vance of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. Chloé also served as an intern to the Honorable Fredericka H. Wicker of the Louisiana Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit.

Chloé received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Tulane University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Louisiana State University. While in law school, she served as an Associate Editor for the Tulane Law Review.
