John D’Avello focuses his practice on commercial litigation, environmental and toxic torts, and insurance coverage and bad faith.
John leverages significant experience in diverse practice areas to bring creative solutions and efficient investigation and advocacy to clients. He has previously represented the chief investigating officer of a state agency in licensure investigations and administrative proceedings, litigated antitrust and unfair trade practices, Section 1983, and other constitutional claims in state and federal courts, and advised on legal ethics. Before entering private practice, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Tu M. Pham of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and as a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where he gained extensive experience in federal trial and appellate practice.
John earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Tulane University Law School, where he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois.
John serves as Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers' Committee for the Bar Association of the Federal Fifth Circuit and is a Board Member of the Tulane Law Review Alumni Association.
