In re: DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., Pinnacle Hip Implant Products

(Client: Johnson & Johnson)

A Barrasso Usdin trial team successfully defended Johnson & Johnson and DePuy Orthopaedics in the first bellwether trial in the multidistrict litigation involving a DePuy hip implant. After an eight-week trial in Dallas, Texas, the federal jury on October 23, 2014, returned a unanimous defense verdict. Partners Richard E. Sarver served as DePuy’s trial counsel, along with Michael A. Balascio, and Kyle W. Siegel

This was the second win for the trial team who previously secured a complete defense verdict in a bellwether trial involving a different hip implant trial in 2013.
