LeSueur Presents on "The Summary Judgment Era" at NOBA's 2025 Bench Bar Conference
Lon LeSueur served as a panel chair at the New Orleans Bar Association's Bench Bar Conference held March 28th - 30th at the Hilton Lodge in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Lon's panel presented on "The Summary Judgment Era: An update on Louisiana's summary judgment procedure." Joining Lon on the panel were The Hon. Rachael D. Johnson, La. 4th Circuit Court of Appeal, Hon. June B. Darensburg, 24th Judicial District Court, Valerie E. Fontenot, Jones Walker LLP, and Lauren Pilié, Morris Bart LLC.
Laurence ("Lon") D. LeSueur, Jr.
Lon LeSueur’s multi-faceted practice focuses on complex and commercial litigation. He has deep litigation experience, having earned victories for his clients in state and federal courts in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, as well as various arbitration forums. Lon has successfully represented clients through all stages of litigation from case development and initial fillings, motion practice, discovery, trial, and appeal. Lon has first-chair trial experience, and his appellate work includes three victories at the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (including two reversals), as well as multiple victories in Louisiana state appellate courts.
Substantively, Lon’s practice includes representing whistleblowers in high-stakes False Claim Act (FCA) litigation involving healthcare fraud across the country, and he helps author the seminal FCA healthcare treatise—Health Care Fraud: Enforcement and Compliance. Lon has also litigated class actions, shareholder derivative claims, intellectual property actions, contract disputes, securities claims, as well as products liability and environmental/toxic tort matters. And Lon maintains a strong insurance coverage practice, representing carriers in high-stakes bad faith cases.
